Clashes between demonstrators and security forces have been reported in Dinguiraye, northern Guinea, following demonstrations early Dec. 8. Protesters had gathered during morning hours to protest corruption in the town. Security forces reportedly used tear gas to disperse participants who had blocked roads including the arterial N30.
An increased security presence is likely to remain in the town through the evening hours and further clashes are possible. Transport disruptions are also likely in the vicinity of all gatherings.
