Unidentified gunmen attacked a gold mining operation in Djikando in Gaoua commune, Burkina Faso, Jan. 31. At least six people were killed and another 29 injured during the raid. The attack underscores the severe insecurity and risk of armed attack by militants or armed criminal elements across much of Burkina Faso.
