Public health services are experiencing disruptions in Waikato region as of May 19 following a ransomware cyberattack targeting the Waikato District Health Board. Employees have temporarily shut down IT services at Waikato, Thames, Tokoroa, Te Kuiti, and Taumaranui hospitals. Most nonemergency healthcare services have been suspended at the facilities.
