Vietnam: Officials extend stay-home orders in Da Nang City through 08:00 Sept. 5 due to COVID-19

Vietnam extends stay-home rules in Da Nang City through 08:00 Sept. 5 due to COVID-19. Business disruptions likely to continue.

Critical

Event

Authorities have extended stricter restrictions, including stay-home orders, in Da Nang city through 08:00 Sept. 5 due to COVID-19. Officials designate red, yellow, and green zones in specific areas based on local COVID-19 activity; green zones are districts with no community cases in the last 14 days, while yellow and red indicate a high and very high risk of transmission, respectively. Residents in red zones must remain at their homes except for essential reasons, such as seeking medical care or working in essential industries.

Individuals in yellow zones must also abide by stay-home orders. However, more businesses may operate on-site, and key trading companies, shopping malls, and supermarkets may open at full capacity. Government agencies and manufacturing companies may operate with up to 10 and 30 percent of staff on-site, respectively; officials prohibit employees from leaving their workplaces. Delivery workers can work from 06:00-20:00; however, they must be fully vaccinated and undergo COVID-19 PCR testing every three days. Exit and entry rules likely remain in place.

Authorities will probably maintain tight security measures, such as setting up checkpoints and deploying additional personnel in and around Da Nang through Sept. 5. Officials are reportedly subjecting entrants to COVID-19 tests at entry points into the city. Severe transport and business disruptions are likely.
