Activists affiliated with several civil society groups, including the Soualiga United Collective, have called for a march in Marigot, Sept. 3. Participants will gather from 07:00 around the taxi stand area near the Marigot waterfront and march to Hotel de la Collectivite de Saint Martin and to the Prefecture of Saint Barthelemy and Saint Martin. The route has not been confirmed. Participants aim to protest against several measures introduced by the government during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as the national health pass, as well as other issues, such as the closure of Sandy Ground bridge for renovations.

Transport and business disruptions in and around Marigot are likely on Sept. 3. Police will likely deploy to monitor the action. Skirmishes with police cannot be ruled out, though major violence is unlikely.
