Saint Lucia: Authorities extend curfew thorough Sept. 14 and modify other COVID-19-related restrictions /update 33
Saint Lucia extends curfew through Sept. 14 and modifies other COVID-19-related restrictions.
Event
Authorities in Saint Lucia have extended the 19:00-0:400 curfew through Sept. 14 due to COVID-19. Additionally, a weekend curfew will be in effect 16:00 Sept. 4-04:00 Sept. 6. All individuals must remain in their homes or lodging during curfew hours except to attend critical matters and engage in essential work duties. Business establishments must close one hour before the curfew takes effect.
Officials have suspended seated dining at restaurants; only delivery and takeaway services can continue. Authorities have also banned social gatherings between members of different households and the sale of alcohol at bars, rum shops, and restaurants. Social activities involving members of the same household are limited to 10 people.
International Travel
All travelers aged five and above must produce a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than five days before arrival. Individuals aged 18 and over must also complete a Travel Registration document seven days or more before arrival. Arriving travelers are subject to medical screening. Passengers in transit with a same-day onward journey do not require travel authorization. Officials no longer utilize the CARICOM travel bubble scheme for neighboring Caribbean countries.
Other restrictions depend on the traveler's residency and vaccination status:
Vaccinated Travelers: Individuals who have proof of having received their final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before arrival are exempt from quarantine controls but must still stay at a COVID-19-certified accommodation. Unvaccinated minors of fully vaccinated parents must take a COVID-19 test either on arrival (residents) or the following day (non-residents) and must quarantine until receipt of a negative result.
Unvaccinated Returning Nationals and Residents: All unvaccinated Saint Lucia nationals and residents must complete a 14-day quarantine. These individuals must confirm quarantine arrangements at a COVID-19-certified accommodation or government-operated quarantine facility before travel. Authorities will administer a PCR test on day seven of their stay in the country. Those who test negative for COVID-19 may spend the remainder of the mandatory quarantine period at a personal residence. Applications for home quarantine approval for the entirety of the quarantine are also possible in limited circumstances.
Unvaccinated International Travelers: Other unvaccinated travelers must remain at their COVID-19-certified accommodations throughout their stay or for 14 days, whichever is shorter. Visitors may leave the certified property and travel freely after 14 days.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, ease, or otherwise amend restrictions with little-to-no notice, depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
