Activists to hold protests in multiple locations in the US, Oct. 2, in support of abortion rights.

Members and supporters of multiple organizations, including the Women's March and Planned Parenthood, plan to hold protests in various locations throughout the US, Oct. 2 in support of abortion rights.

The main demonstration is scheduled to take place in Washington, DC, where activists intend to gather at Freedom Plaza starting at 12:00, and from there march along Pennsylvania and Constitution Avenues to the US Supreme Court.

Protests have been confirmed in multiple other locations, including the following:

  • Atlanta: Rally at Liberty Plaza, 11:00

  • Austin: Rally outside the Texas State Capitol, 09:00

  • Chicago: Rally at Daley Plaza, 11:30

  • Houston: March from Discovery Green to Houston City Hall, 09:00

  • Los Angeles: March from Pershing Square to City Hall, 10:00

  • Miami: Rallies at the Torch of Friendship and Coral Reef Park, 14:00

  • New York: March from Foley Square to Washington Square, 14:00

  • Philadelphia: March from Washington Monument to City Hall, 12:00

  • Phoenix: Rally outside the Arizona State Capitol, 10:00

  • San Francisco: March from Civic Center Plaza to Embarcadero Plaza, 11:00

  • Seattle: Rally at Westlake Park, 11:00

Thousands are likely to participate in the largest demonstrations, especially in Washington, DC, New York, Chicago, and Austin. Heightened security near the protest sites and associated transport and business disruptions are likely.
