Authorities in Mozambique further ease COVID-19 domestic measures effective as of Oct. 25. Curfew in effect in urban centers.
Event
Authorities have eased domestic COVID-19-related measures effective as of Oct. 25. The measures will be in effect until Dec. 20.
Domestic Restrictions
A curfew remains in place in Maputo, all provincial capitals, and municipal towns; it runs from 00:00-04:00.
Private gatherings may now resume with a maximum capacity of 250 people outdoor and 100 indoor, without exceeding 50 percent of the maximum capacity.
Religious services may resume with a maximum capacity of 100 people indoor and 250 outdoor, without exceeding 50 percent of the maximum capacity.
Places such as cinemas, theatres, gyms, pools, or cultural centers, may operate at a higher capacity.
Shopping centers will operate from 09:00-20:00 Monday-Saturday and from 09:00-18:00 on Sundays and during holidays. Stalls for the sale of food are allowed to operate 07:00-17:00 Monday-Saturday and will remain closed on Sundays and holidays. The sale of alcohol is permitted from 07:00-20:00, Monday to Saturday, and 07:00-17:00 on Sundays.
Restaurants and bars may now operate from 09:00 to 21:00, but not exceeding 20% of the maximum capacity inside and 20% outside.
International Travel
All international arrivals in Mozambique must present a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before departure for the country, irrespective of vaccination status. Children under five years old are exempt.
For travelers arriving in Mozambique via land border crossings, the negative test result remains valid for seven days, permitting multiple entries or short-term return travel.
Passengers who test positive upon or fail to provide a negative test result must self-quarantine for 14 days. Those who provide a negative test result are exempt from quarantine.
All restrictions are subject to amendment at short notice in response to government reviews. Security forces are deployed to ensure compliance.

Consider delaying traveling if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays. Liaise with trusted contacts for further updates and guidance.
