Timor-Leste: Authorities end state of emergency as of Nov. 30 /update 45

Event

Officials have lifted the nationwide state of emergency as of Nov. 30 due to reduced COVID-19 activity. The government continues to require individuals to be fully vaccinated or present a negative COVID-19 test result taken within five days to access some administrative services. Authorities continue to require people to wear facemasks, frequently sanitize their hands, and maintain a 1-meter (3-feet) distance from others when in public. Gatherings likely remain prohibited. Funerals of government workers in state buildings are banned. Authorities may reintroduce the stricter measures in some localities at short notice, depending on changes in COVID-19 activity.

International Travel Restrictions
Authorities continue to suspend entry for citizens and foreigners. Diplomatic personnel, members of international organizations and bilateral cooperation agencies, petroleum sector workers, and medical emergencies are exempt. Authorities require permitted travelers to present a negative COVID-19 test result and quarantine for 14 days in government facilities or their private residences, subject to prior approval from the Ministry of Health. Fully vaccinated individuals are exempt from quarantine but must take another COVID-19 test within 48 hours of arrival in Timor Leste. Travelers must receive a negative COVID-19 test result before leaving quarantine.
