Emergency crews are responding to a fire at a furniture factory in Seolun-dong, Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province, as of the afternoon of Dec. 31. The blaze, which started at around 12:40, has reportedly spread to three compounds. Crews have evacuated workers of the affected buildings. There are no immediate reports of casualties. The cause of the fire is unclear.

Heightened security, as well as localized business and transport disruptions, are likely in the area. Localized transport disruptions may last through at least the afternoon of Dec. 31. Operations at nearby facilities may also face delays or interruptions. Lingering disruptions are possible after firefighting and investigations end.

The incident site is approximately 36 km (22 miles) northeast of Seoul.
