Event

The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) in Lagos announced Jan. 10 it will suspend a planned three-day strike. NANNM members went on strike for 10 hours before union leaders confirmed the government agreed to meet their demands. Union leaders said that all nurses would return to duty at 08:00 Jan. 11. The action was held to denounce the alleged Lagos State Government’s failure to provide enough staff and adequate wage and working conditions.

Further strikes are possible if the union believes the government fails to implement their demands.
