Emergency crews are working to contain a wildfire in San Antonio Commune, Valparaiso Region, as of early Feb. 24. The National Office of Emergency of the Interior Ministry (ONEMI) has issued a red (the highest level on a four-tier scale) alert for the San Antonio Commune due to the intensity and rapid spread of the fire. The fire has consumed approximately 300 hectares (741 acres) and 12 brigades are on-site battling the blaze. Authorities have evacuated the Valle Abajo sector of Cuncumen Town.

Emergency responders may implement road closures at short notice depending on evolving wildfire conditions and operational needs. Smoke from the fires could cause poor air quality in the affected area. Authorities may introduce mandatory evacuation orders at short notice. The fires could also lead to power supply disruptions.
