Authorities in Barbados slightly ease COVID-19-related international travel restrictions as of March 8; nightly curfew lifted.

Officials in Barbados have slightly eased the country's COVID-19-related international travel restrictions as of March 8. Under the new directives, travelers may opt to present a negative result from a rapid antigen test or rapid PCR test taken within one day prior to arrival in Barbados; travelers may still present a negative result from an RT-PCR test taken within three days before arrival to enter.
Authorities have also recently lifted the country's nightly 00:01-05:00 curfew. Barbados' other COVID-19-related domestic measures have remained largely unchanged.
Domestic Measures
All businesses, except for nightclubs, are allowed to operate provided they adhere to strict protocols on the use of protective facemasks, social distancing, and sanitation. Those attending public events must be fully vaccinated and have a negative result from a COVID-19 test taken within the 24 hours prior. Wearing a facemask remains mandatory in all public spaces; children under five years of age are exempt.
International Travel Restrictions
To enter Barbados, all travelers must complete an online Immigration/Customs Form at least 24 hours prior to travel. The form may be accessed via the BIMSafe mobile application or a government website. Travelers may complete the form upon arrival if experiencing technical difficulties. Incoming international travelers ages five and older must also present a negative result from an RT-PCR test taken no more than three days before arrival, or present a negative result from a rapid PCR test or a rapid antigen test taken within one day before arrival. LAMP tests, self-administered and at-home tests, and tests using saliva samples are not accepted. Travelers should upload their test results and vaccine certificate (if applicable) to the BIMSafe mobile application and travel with a copy of their test results that clearly indicates the date on which the test was conducted.
Fully vaccinated travelers are not required to quarantine. However, they may be randomly selected to take a rapid antigen test upon arrival at Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI); individuals may travel through the country upon receiving a negative result. Unvaccinated children traveling with fully vaccinated adults will be allowed to enter Barbados without the need to quarantine.
Unvaccinated travelers must complete a mandatory quarantine period at a government-approved accommodation; they must also undergo another PCR test on their fourth day in the country and may leave quarantine if this test result is negative. Any traveler who tests positive for COVID-19 must enter isolation.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
