Tajikistan to ease domestic and international entry COVID-19 measures effective March 15.

Authorities will ease international entry restrictions imposed to stem the spread of COVID-19 effective March 15. Travelers entering Tajikistan from Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) members need not submit to COVID-19 testing upon entry if they can prove they are vaccinated. Arrivals will only be required to present a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival
Some domestic restrictions have been eased as of March 11. The use of facemasks is no longer mandatory in public spaces and restrictions on attendance at private cultural events has been lifted.
Domestic Measures
Nonessential businesses, including shopping centers, markets, and restaurants, are operating subject to social distancing mandates. Some regions require proof of vaccination to visit catering facilities and other public places and attend public gatherings.
International Travel Restrictions
All arrivals must present a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival; vaccinated travelers from Russia are exempt from this requirement. Travelers may also be selected to take a second PCR test upon arrival. Individuals without proof of an initial negative test result must self-isolate until a negative test result is confirmed. Persons testing positive for COVID-19 must self-isolate until they have recovered. Individuals may be placed in a state-run quarantine facility at the discretion of officials.
Passenger flights are operating, including connections with China, Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan. Passengers are not permitted to board flights at Dushanbe International Airport unless they present proof of a negative PCR test result. Land borders with Afghanistan, China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan are closed, though some border crossings with Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are open for freight vehicles.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
