Nigeria: Authorities ease most COVID-19 domestic measures as of April 7 /update 49
Nigeria lifts most COVID-19 domestic measures, including curfew, as of April 7.
Event
As of April 7, officials have lifted the nationwide 00:00-04:00 curfew as well as the majority of COVID-19-related domestic measures. Businesses may operate as normal. Select health guidelines remain in place. The use of facemasks remains mandatory in public transport and in indoor public places. States may enact strict state-level restrictions.
International Travel Restrictions
Prior to arrival, passengers are required to register online at the Nigeria International Travel Portal. Fully vaccinated travelers no longer need to get tested before and upon arrival in Nigeria. Unvaccinated passengers must provide a negative result from a PCR test taken no more than 48 hours before boarding, undergo seven days of mandatory self-isolation, and take a PCR test on days two and seven after arrival at their own cost. Authorities will process those who test positive based on Nigeria's national guidelines for COVID-19 treatment
Carriers from countries that restrict or ban entry by Nigerian nationals may face reciprocal prohibitions on operating in Nigeria. Authorities have reopened land border crossings with neighboring countries; however, it remains unclear if officials allow passenger travel through border points and whether COVID-19 requirements apply.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
