A magnitude-5.0 earthquake occurred in Junin Region, Peru at around 23:04 April 9. The epicenter was about 4 km (2 miles) west of Comas. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 18 km (11 miles), and light shaking was probably felt through much of central Peru.
