Members of the United Party for National Development (UPND) and bus touts (known as call boys) are protesting in Lusaka April 22. Participants have gathered near the Intercity bus terminus located on Dedan Kimathi Road, reportedly burning tires and throwing stones on nearby roads. Some property damage has been reported. Participants are denouncing a move from the police to dislodge them from the area following complaints by bus drivers and bus owners that UPND members and call boys were harassing and extorting money from them.

Police will almost certainly monitor the gathering throughout the day. Ground travel disruptions are likely in the area. Clashes between protesters and police are possible if demonstrators ignore police orders to disperse.
