France: Farmers staging vehicle protest in Pau April 28

Event

Unionized farmers are currently demonstrating in Pau to denounce the high cost of animal feed. Participants are marching through the city center and arrived outside the Prefecture building at around 12:00 for a rally; several activists are participating in farm vehicles. Several hundred people are reportedly attending the protest.

Additional police are deployed to monitor and facilitate the action. The protest itself and related security measures, such as road closures and movement restrictions, are resulting in localized transport disruptions in the city center. The action is likely to proceed peacefully.
