Warning

Event

Officials have updated COVID-19-related measures as of May 20. The nightly curfew now runs from 01:00-04:00. A vaccination certificate is required to enter government buildings and airport facilities. Incoming international travelers must complete a health form and present a negative result from a PCR test taken no more than 48 hours before their departure for Comoros, regardless of their vaccination status. Travelers are required to undertake an antigen test when arriving on Moheli island.

Domestic Measures
Beaches are closed. Authorities continue to require residents to wear protective facemasks and strictly adhere to social distancing mandates in all public places, including vehicles, taxis, shops, and private and public establishments.

International Travel Restrictions
Health authorities perform temperature checks on all arriving passengers at airports; those exhibiting a temperature of over 38 degrees Celsius (100.4 Fahrenheit) must take an additional PCR test. It remains unclear what requirements authorities may impose on persons who test positive for COVID-19 upon arrival; however, such measures will likely include quarantine until the individual tests negative for the virus. Persons leaving Comoros must also test negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours before their departure, regardless of their ultimate destination.

Authorities are likely to amend and implement new restrictions and measures at short notice.
