Informational

Event

Over 150 religious, anti-abortion, and other civil society associations will protest in Madrid on June 26. Participants will gather at 12:00 at Glorieta de Bilbao before marching along Calle de Sagasta and Calle de Genova to Plaza de Colon. Organizers will denounce a recent amendment to Spain’s abortion law. While the number of attendees is unknown, a related event in March attracted several thousand protesters.

Police will almost certainly deploy to facilitate and monitor the gathering. Associated security measures will likely prompt localized travel disruptions at the rally point and along the march route. Temporary road closures are possible along the march route of Calle de Sagasta and Calle de Genova. Increased congestion is possible on Metro Line 4 as demonstrators arrive and depart the event.

Advice
