Political activists plan to rally at squares in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Madrid, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain, 12:00 Oct. 27.
Political activists plan to hold rallies at three different locations in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and Madrid on Oct. 27. The events aim at denouncing current immigration laws in Spain and demanding cuts to immigration rates. Participants will gather at the following locations:
Madrid: Puerta del Sol, from 12:00;
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: Manuel Becerra Square, from 12:00;
Santa Cruz de Tenerife: Mendez Nunez Street, from 12:00.
It remains unclear how many participants will attend; however, opposing groups could organize counterdemonstrations near the affected areas.
Authorities will likely deploy increased security to monitor the gathering. Localized road travel and transport disruptions are likely near the protest sites. Limited confrontation between demonstrators and opposing factions or between participants and law enforcement officers is possible.
Avoid all demonstrations as a standard precaution. Strictly heed instructions from authorities. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
