Spain: Activists to demonstrate in Madrid Nov. 26

Activists to protest at Assembly of Madrid in Madrid, Spain, from 19:30 on Nov. 26. Heightened security, transport disruptions likely.

Informational

Activists plan to protest at the Assembly of Madrid on Avenida de Pablo Neruda from 19:30 on Nov. 26. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce the police eviction of an activist group from an abandoned building in the Villa de Vallecas district earlier in the day. It was not immediately clear how many participants may attend.

Law enforcement officers will likely deploy nearby to facilitate the gathering. Movement by demonstrators or road closures by law enforcement officers will likely disrupt travel near the Assembly of Madrid. Low-level confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the protest site. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
