India: Officials restricting water supply in Pune, Maharashtra State, through July 11

Authorities restricting water supply in Pune, India, through July 11 due to shortages. Commercial disruptions possible.

Informational

Event

Due to water shortages, authorities are restricting water supply in Pune, Maharashtra, through July 11. Officials are supplying water to areas on alternate days, with areas such as Hadapsar, Kharadi, and Kothrud receiving water July 4, 6, and 8. Other parts of the city, including Mahalunge, will have access to water July 5, 7, 9, and 11. The shortages are occurring because of scarce rainfall.

Some business disruptions are possible, especially for companies that rely on large quantities of municipal water to maintain operations. Prolonged water supply disruptions could occur, particularly if recovery works take longer than expected. While residents have relied on private water suppliers during previous water shortages, increased demand and ongoing fuel shortages could limit availability.

Advice

Confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Pressure and water quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes.
