Warning

Event

Unionized Scandinavian Airlines (SK) pilots in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden continue to strike as of July 12. Negotiations between the airline and pilot unions are scheduled to resume July 13. The strike began July 4 following a breakdown in talks with employers over pay and working conditions. The airline subsequently filed for bankruptcy protection in the US July 5.

The airline has canceled approximately 50-75 percent of its flights in the past week. Further cancellations are likely over the coming days. Flights that do operate could be severely delayed or otherwise disrupted. Lingering disruptions are possible following the strike's conclusion as the airline works to reorganize schedules and reposition aircraft.

Advice

Confirm flights if booked to fly on Scandanavian Airlines over the near term. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Arrive early at airports to prevent your seat from being allocated to a standby passenger. Consider alternate arrangements for critical travel.
