New Caledonia: Unionized Air Caledonie workers suspend strike; flight operations normal as of Aug. 23 /update 3
Unionized Air Caledonie workers suspend labor action in New Caledonia. Flight operations normalizing as of Aug. 23. Confirm reservations.
Event
Unionized Air Caledonie (TY) workers have suspended labor actions as of Aug. 23, after the government agreed to establish a working group to address all labor concerns at the carrier. The strikes disrupted domestic flights in the territory for two weeks, with the domestic airline canceling all flights on some days. TY says that flight operations have returned to normal. However, additional actions and flight disruptions could occur at short notice, particularly if the government-led process breaks down.
Advice
Confirm flights as a precaution. Do not check out of accommodations until verifying onward travel.
