Nigeria: Youth activists to launch protest outside of NNPC headquarters in Abuja Aug. 30

Activists associated with the Amalgamated Arewa Youth Groups (AAYG) will reportedly launch a peaceful protest outside of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) headquarters in Abuja Aug. 30. Protest organizers did not immediately announce the precise time at which the demonstration will begin. The purpose of the protest is to denounce the awarding of a pipeline surveillance contract to an ex-Niger Delta militant leader by the Federal Government of Nigeria and the NNPC.
