Paraguay: Protesters intermittently block Aceso Sur in Nemby, Sept. 13

Protesting truck drivers are intermittently blocking Aceso Sur in Nemby, a major thoroughfare connecting Asuncion with the area south of the capital, Sept. 13. The action is being led to demand that the cost of fuel be reduced.

Police have deployed to the area. Clashes cannot be ruled out, especially if police attempt to disperse the demonstrators and fully reopen the road forcibly.
