Authorities are responding to an explosion at the Arc of the New Life (Arca de la Nueva Vida) drug rehabilitation clinic on Nuevo Vallarta Street in the Prados Tercero neighborhood of San Luis Potosi the evening of Sept. 13. The blast occurred in the afternoon and caused a fire; three people are dead and at least seven injured. Firefighters reportedly have the fire under control but may still be working to extinguish it; an investigation into the incident is likely ongoing. Officials have not announced the cause of the explosion, but attacks by drug-trafficking organizations (DTO's) on drug rehabilitation clinics have occurred in the past.

Heightened security and associated localized transport disruptions are likely in the area in the coming hours.
