As of Sept. 21, Islamabad authorities are implementing increased security measures until further notice. Officials have banned gatherings of five or more people in the capital and bolstered security along the Red Zone’s entry and exit points.

Additionally, security personnel have issued a travel advisory, diverting traffic headed toward F-9 Park along Jinnah Avenue. Authorities are prohibiting travelers from entering the Red Zone via Islamabad Expressway, NADRA Chowk, and Ayub Chowk; commuters may use Serena Chowk and Margallah Road instead. Expanded security measures may prompt additional transport disruptions. Localized business disruptions are also possible to accommodate the recent measures.

Avoid any public gatherings as a precaution. If any violence erupts nearby, immediately depart the area and seek shelter in a safe, nongovernmental building. Carry proper documentation at all times. Heed all official security and travel advisories.
