A series of at least 10 landslides has disrupted traffic on the Klondike Highway near Klondike, Yukon, as of late Sept. 25. The landslides initially blocked both sides of the Dempstery Highway cut-off, making Whitehorse, Klondike, and the Dempster Highway leading to Inuvik inaccessible to each other. Authorities have been working to clear the landslides. Reports indicate one lane in the section between Whitehorse and the Dempster Highway cutoff is open; another lane in the section between Klondike and the Dempster Highway cutoff is only open between 08:00 and 20:00.

Additional rain is forecast Sept. 26-27, and further landslides are possible. Transport disruptions are likely in the coming days. Companies reliant on truck shipments will probably face business disruptions.

The junction of the Klondike and Dempster Highways is approximately 411 km (255 miles) north by northwest of Whitehorse.
