Cameroon: Unionized teachers to strike indefinitely nationwide from Oct. 3

Teachers affiliated with the SECA union (Syndicat des enseignants du Cameroun pour l'Afrique) and other civil society groups have embarked on a nationwide indefinite strike from Oct. 3. The purpose of the action is to demand improved employment conditions. Union representatives announced that the work stoppage will continue until officials agree to answer select grievances.

Related gatherings are possible in the vicinity of education facilities and government buildings, particularly in urban centers such as Yaounde. Heightened security and localized traffic disruptions are likely near any protests that materialize.
