Morocco: Truckers plan to protest outside Parliament in Rabat Oct. 23

The National Union of Road Transport Professionals, which is affiliated with the Moroccan National Labour Union, has announced plans for a protest outside the country's Parliament in Rabat, Oct. 23. The demonstration has been organized in response to an increase in fuel and food prices. Dozens to hundreds of individuals could attend the demonstration.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near Parliament for the duration of the protest. Clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out, particularly if demonstrators are overly disruptive or if they ignore police orders to disperse.
