The US Embassy in Kinshasa has issued a demonstration alert for Nov. 2. According to the alert, civil society activists will gather at 09:00 at the Stade des Martyrs and march to the US Embassy, located in the Gombe district of Kinshasa. The purpose of the protest remains unclear. However, it may be related to a similar planned protest in South Kivu Nov. 2 to denounce the alleged Rwandan backing of M23 rebels.

A heightened security presence is likely along the march route Nov. 2. Clashes are possible if protesters ignore police orders to disperse. Localized ground travel disruptions are potential near all protest locations.
