Unionized public bus workers have launched an indefinite strike affecting Toronto, Ont., Canada, effective Nov. 7.

Warning

Event

Unionized public bus workers, part of the GO Transit system, have launched an indefinite strike in Toronto, Ontario, starting Nov. 7, following a failed negotiation between Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 1587 leaders and Metrolinx. The strike has forced the cancellation of the bus system serving the Greater Golden Horseshoe area of Ontario. GO Transit trains have continued to operate without any changes.

While the strike continues, public transport disruptions are likely in Toronto and the Greater Golden Horseshoe area of Ontario. Higher-than-usual traffic and overcrowding in other public transport services are likely.

Advice

Consider using alternative modes of transportation. Allow additional time to reach your destination if operating in the affected area during the duration of the strike.
