Nigeria: Activists to rally at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos Nov. 26

Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s presidential candidate in the February 2023 election, Bola Tinubu, will gather at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos 09:00-16:00 Nov. 26. Local authorities warned residents of traffic disruptions near the stadium, including along Funsho Williams Avenue and Alhaji Masha Road, due to heightened security measures and related traffic diversions for vehicles and persons. This will likely cause heavy congestion to and from Lagos Island.

Although the event is likely to pass without significant violence, clashes with security forces cannot be ruled out. The threat of violence will increase if counter-protesters attend the rally.

Avoid all the vicinity of the rally and plan accordingly for ground travel disruptions if traveling via the affected area. If violence erupts nearby, leave immediately. Heed the instructions of local authorities.
