A magnitude-5.3 earthquake occurred in Ilocos Norte Province at around 23:05 Nov. 24. The epicenter was about 22 km (14 miles) south-southeast of Bangui, Ilocos Norte Province. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 44 km (27 miles), and light shaking was probably felt throughout much of northern Luzon and the Babuyan Islands. There have been no initial reports of damage or casualties as a result of the earthquake, and significant damage is unlikely.
