A suspect package was sent to the Ukrainian consulate in Brno, Dec. 2. Emergency services are investigating. The building and an adjacent kindergarten have been evacuated and a security cordon is in place. There are no reports of any casualties.
This incident follows six letter bombs sent to government, defense, or Ukraine-related addresses in Spain, Nov. 30-Dec. 1. Authorities have not yet indicated a suspected source of this letter bomb campaign.
These incidents will likely prompt significantly increased security procedures in government buildings, at Ukrainian and other diplomatic missions, and at defense-related locations across the Czech Republic.
