Train disruptions are affecting multiple lines, mainly in the Kanagawa and Tokyo prefectures as of the afternoon of Dec. 6. Disruptions started the morning of Dec. 6 following a train car malfunction between Totsuka and Ofuna stations. Authorities have suspended all train services between Takasaki and Odawara stations on the Shonan-Shinjuku Line. Delays are also affecting the Takasaki, Tokaido, and Utsunomiya lines; cancelations are possible. Officials have not provided a timeline for when service will resume, but delays could continue for several hours.

Although alternative transport may be available between stations, services could be limited and overcrowded. Train disruptions will likely continue until authorities finish repair works. Localized road transport disruptions are possible.
