Czech Republic: Freight train derailment in Brno the morning of Dec. 8

Event

A freight train partially derailed in Malomerice, Brno, early Dec. 8, prompting train services delays between Brno Kralovo Pole and Brno Zidenice stations. Reports indicate that at least three train carriages derailed at approximately 02:15. Officials temporarily suspended all train services between Kralovo Pole and Zidenice stations for around three hours following the accident before resuming partial services after clearing one track near the affected site. There have been no reports of injuries. Crews reported that service disruptions could last until at least 23:00.
