Reports indicate that severe flight disruptions are ongoing at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ) in Cusco as of late Dec. 12. Demonstrations in support of former President Castillo are ongoing in the vicinity of the airport. Several hundred protesters have reportedly clashed with the police. Both Latam (LA) and Sky (H2) flights have announced flights to and from CUZ will be suspended through at least Dec. 13. Airport operations are also severely affected.

Further flight cancellations are likely in the coming days at CUZ. Lingering disruptions to flight schedules are likely once the services resume and airlines clear the backlog of passengers.
