Warning

Event

Activists plan to march in central Seoul Feb. 25 to denounce President Yoon Seok-yeol and his administration and demand his resignation. Protesters will gather outside City Hall Station Exit 7 beginning at 17:00 and proceed toward Myeong-dong Station entrance, Euljiro 1-ga intersection, Bosingak intersection, Gwanghwamun intersection, in front of the Chosun Ilbo building, and Seoul City Hall before returning to City Hall Station. Seoul Metropolitan Police sources indicate up to 100,000 people may participate in the action.

Heightened security, as well as localized business and transport disruptions, are likely through late Feb. 25. Clashes between police and protesters are possible.

Advice

Avoid the demonstration due to possible clashes. Seek alternative routes to circumvent the gathering venues and allow additional time to reach destinations near affected locations. If clashes occur, depart the area immediately and seek shelter in a secure, nongovernmental building. Heed instructions of authorities.
