A suspected under-vehicle improvised explosive device (UVIED) exploded near the Kuwait Plaza hotel located on Maka Al-Mukarama Road (MAM), in downtown Mogadishu on Tuesday, November 20. The explosion occurred around noon (local time). At least two people were reportedly injured and the MAM has been closed until further notice. Details are still emerging. Al-Shabaab is strongly suspected of being behind the attack.
