Suspected militants launched an attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) outpost in Baramulla district (Jammu and Kashmir) on Saturday, April 18, killing three and wounding three more. The attack took place in the Sopore area of the district while CPRF personnel were conducting a security patrol. A search operation has been launched to try to track down the assailants.
Further militant attacks are possible over the near term.
Individuals in Jammu and Kashmir are advised to monitor developments, remain vigilant for militant activity, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities and their home governments.
Some foreign governments advise their citizens against travel to parts of Kashmir, notably including areas along the Line of Control (LoC), due to the significant risk of violence.
