Demonstration planned in Lima for November 18

Labor demonstration planned in Lima for November 18; avoid all demonstrations as a precaution

Several labor unions, including the Confederacion General de Trabajadores del Peru (CGTP) have called for supporters to demonstrate in Lima on Wednesday, November 18, over various issues, including the cost of living, minimum wage, and recent reforms to collective bargaining laws. Participants will reportedly gather at Plaza Dos de Mayo from 17:00 (local time).

Disruptions to some services are possible during the strike and a heightened security presence and localized disruptions to transport are expected in the vicinity of any large-scale demonstrations.

Those in Peru are advised to monitor the situation, avoid the vicinity of any demonstrations as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
