Rail services are suspended along several Mexico City Metro rail lines Jan. 10 following a fire at a substation late Jan. 9. Travel is currently suspended along lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. Buses are being used to replace services in impacted areas.

Rail disruptions will probably continue in the coming days as repairs continue. Increased demand for alternative transport is likely. Residual rail disruptions are possible even after services resume.

Advice

Confirm rail schedules. Use alternative transport for time-sensitive travel, especially in central Mexico City. If using alternative means of transport through Mexico City, allow extra time for travel.
