France: Hop! Air France pilots on strike July 3-8

The National Syndicate of Airline Pilots (SPNL) announced that pilots at the airline Hop!, a subsidiary of Air France, will go on strike from Monday, July 3, through Saturday, July 8. The strike, if not called off, could result in flight delays and cancelations across the Hop! Air France network.

Context

The strike coincides with the beginning of the traditional summer holidays, a busy travel period in France.

The union is demanding a clearer definition of Hop! activities and better working conditions, among other things. Negotiations between the union and airline management have been ongoing since September 2016.
