France: Strong storms in the north July 6 /update 1

Strong summer storms forecasted in the north of France for Thursday, July 6

Powerful storms are expected in the northern departments of Aisne, Oise,  Ardennes, Marnes, Seine Maritime, Nord, Pas-de-Calais, and the Somme beginning at approximately 16:00 (local time) on Thursday, July 6, and lasting until 22:00. The French meteorological agency (Météo France) has placed these eight departments under “Orange” warnings - the second-highest warning on a four point scale. Heavy rain, hail, strong winds (80-100 km/h [50-60 mph]) and strong electric activity are forecast.

Transport disruptions (rail, road) due to debris blocking roads or tracks are possible, along with potential flight disruptions. Localized power cuts and flooding may also occur.
