CAMRA calls for Algerian doctors’ protests to continue in Oran, Blida, and Sétif provinces February 22; consequent increased wait times at health facilities and transportation disruptions expected

The Algerian Autonomous Medical Residents Collective (CAMRA) has called for the continuation of the ongoing nationwide doctors' protests, and for associated marches to take place in the provinces of Oran, Blida, and Sétif on Thursday, February 22. The protests, which are entering their fourth month, and consequent increased wait times at health clinics and hospitals are expected to continue until the Algerian Ministry of Health, Population, and Hospital Reform meets CAMRA's demands. A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions, including roadblocks, are expected near the protest marches.
Context
Hundreds of doctors participated in a related protest in Oran on February 21.
CAMRA first launched the protests around four months ago to demand the suspension of mandatory civil service for Algerian doctors, exemption from compulsory military service, and better pedagogical training, among other demands.
