Staff and guards from national prisons are planning to protest in Sofia on March 10; localized traffic disruptions expected

Protesters are expected to march to a number of government offices, including the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Finance, the Council of Ministers, and the Court of Justice. Increased security measures and localized traffic disruptions are expected in the city.

Context

This is the second national protest conducted by prison staff and guards. The protesters are demanding better working conditions and equal pay with police officers within the Ministry of the Interior. A third demonstration is planned for March 26 in Sofia if their demands are not me.
