Pakistan: New Islamabad International Airport to open by late April
Islamabad’s new international airport scheduled to open by the end of April

The new Islamabad International Airport will reportedly be functional by the end of April. The new airport, which will be located around 20 km (12.4 mi) west of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, will feature two runways and will be able to handle 9 million passengers a year. The new Islamabad International Airport will replace the existing Benazir Bhutto International Airport (ISB) - the second-largest airport by air traffic in Pakistan - located in Chaklala, a suburban town in Rawalpindi.
